Gayle King Reacts to Cindy Crawford Calling Out Oprah Winfrey Over Past Comments
Gayle King is addressing the recent comments Cindy Crawford made about her longtime friend Oprah Winfrey.
In the first episode of Apple TV+’s new docu-series The Super Models, Cindy, 57, reflected on her first appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 1986 when she was 20-years-old.
During the interview, Oprah, 69, focused primarily on Cindy‘s body, which made the model feel “like the chattel or a child, be seen and not hear.”

“When you look at it through today’s eyes, when Oprah’s like, ‘Stand up and show me your body. Show us why you’re worthy of being here,’” Cindy added. “In the moment I didn’t recognize it, only when I look back at it am I like, ‘Oh my gosh, that was so not okay, really. Especially from Oprah.’”
While arriving at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s 2023 Albie Awards, Gayle, 68, was asked about Cindy‘s comments.
“I haven’t seen it, and I want to see it, but I’m surprised and a little disappointed,” Gayle shared with Entertainment Tonight. “Because I know Cindy’s been on her show many, many, many times and it has always been a pleasant experience, [so] I would hate to think that something that happened years ago [could have bothered her].”
While Gayle reiterated that she wasn’t clear on what exactly happened during the interview, she did note that “it’s not Oprah’s thing to humiliate or make anybody feel badly.”
“I have to see it, but, as far as I know, everything is good between Oprah and Cindy,” Gayle added.
Elsewhere in the new docuseries, Cindy also looked back on her brief marriage to Richard Gere.
